As my obsession with music shows no sign of abating, it feels wonderful to delight in this most adult of genres, a composition of piano textures that sits so comfortable with my electronic up bring.

This is the 5th and final volume of the PianoTextures series, which began in 2007.
Bruno Sanfilippo’s imagination knows no bounds. The prolific pianist and composer has poured a lifetime exploring contemporary classical patterns and minimalism into his Piano Textures series, records of austere beauty and quiet, melancholic reflection. Piano Textures 5, his latest release, expands on this palette, yet feels freer and looser. From the opening track, which sounds like sunrise on a spring day, Sanfilippo imbues the music with lightness and a sense of optimism – songs float by, as if on a cloud. The result is his most open, engaging work yet, songs for the heart that speak to the joy of life.
Stationary Travels wrote:
"Argentinian pianist & composer Bruno Sanfilippo released Piano Textures 1 in 2007 thus launching a series of thoughtfully sculpted, introspective works that have come to be among the most beloved recordings of his prolific catalog. The arrival of spring will bring with it the fifth volume in the collection recorded by Sanfilippo at his Onix II Studio located in Barcelona where he & his wife emigrated about 20 years ago during the Argentine Great Depression. Introspective melodies and electroacoustic minimalism remain the order of the day, but the radiant yellow tones of the album’s cover hint at the sense of optimism Sanfilippo brings to the latest iteration of the project as well as the warm palette of musical colors from which he draws. The illuminated nature of the music can be seen as well as heard in this exclusive video premiere of “Piano Textures 5 II” from sound & visual artist Jorge Haro that flashes & flickers in rhythm to the pulsating oscillations and stabs of light Sanfillippo coaxes from his keyboards. As this preview shows, and the rest of the album confirms, the creative drive behind this project, not to mention Sanfilippo himself, clearly still has plenty of spark. Joy and light are in short supply in these dark days, so this should become a welcome fixture on many a modern classical playlist this season. Piano Textures 5 is published on Sanfilippo’s ad21 label and will arrive on the 26th of March on both CD and 12-inch vinyl. A special duo vinyl pack will also be available which includes both volumes 4 & 5"
"Thirteen years after the opening of the series with many other releases in between, Sanfilippo offers up a collection of bright works that cover various styles of piano music, rather than just Modern Classical. For the large part this a pure piano album with Sanfilippo showing exactly the knowledge he has gained from the twenty five plus years of his work. This knowledge means that what you are hearing is an artist at one with his instrument and holding all the cards in regards to where he will dictate where the music will sound like or where it will journey to. “Piano Textures 5” is an album well worth checking out for new and old fans and is available on LP, CD and Digital" DRIFTING, ALMOST FALLING

"A wonderful record [and a beautiful solid white vinyl as well, mastered on a Studer A80 reel-to-reel tape by Ian Hawgood!] dissolving that imaginary boundary between the contemporary classical and modern solo piano music"
“Gli undici brani senza titolo che forma il lavoro presentano infatti spazi estremadamente contenuti tra note di austera bellezza che scorrono lievi, offrendo saggi di luminosa armonia”

Right from the first sound you hear, to the last note - this album will transport you to a natural place. I cannot put into words how this album has been such a huge help. It’s like a friend now - like someone who is always there. An amazing album that everyone should own. Thanks so much, Robert. darkstarr666
